Confused about Conjure Flame
Hey everyone,
I'm really new to the game and thought that warrior/elementalist sounded fun. Anyway I finally got the skill conjure fire. The weapon I'm using was at first, not fire damage, then I added a fire hilt. The description now says it does fire damage. Anyway I'm having problems with conjure fire, I put a few points into fire, yet the skill seems to do nothing. I don't seem to be hitting any higher, nor do I see a second damage showing up. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Jarryd |

They changed it so that it is just 1 packet, so any damage you would do now deals +X fire damage.

1. Did you add the conjure flame spell to your skill bar? 2. Did you use conjure flame prior to attacking? 3. What is your rating in fire magic, and how much extra damage does conjure flame say it will add? If you've done both of those, then what you need to do next is pick a test enemy. This can be any enemy, really, but you want to pick one that is pretty neutral as far as its resistances go. Once you have that chosen, attack the enemy w/ a regular (non-fire) sword that is in the same damage range as your fire-sword. Note the damage of a few hits, since swords do have a damage range. Next, attack using the fire sword, but no conjure flame. Again, note the damage on a few hits. Last, attack using the fire sword AND conjure flame, and note the results of a few hits. Make sure conjure flame is active during all those hits. |

Conjure now adds the damage to a single packet of damage, so you wont see the extra damage show.
If you only added a few points into fire it will be doing minimal extra damage and so easy to not notice. Also if you are attacking something with high fire resistance, or elemental resistance (such as a ranger) you will do less damage. |

The Isle of the Nameless is also a great place to go to get an idea of what "Nearby", "In the area", and other terms mean as far as relative distance of enemies goes. |

hey guys thanks for the responses. I had put 3 or 4 points into fire, so it said it added 9 damage. if it's just one packet then i guess that wouldn't be very noticeable at first. I'll try the practice dummies. Thanks again
Update - I just tried the dummies and you guys were right it is one packet. I hit about 10 higher each hit with conjure fire. Thanks for your help -Jarryd Last edited by jarryd1614; Dec 04, 2007 at 07:00 PM // 19:00.. |
